My Mother-in-law Marybelle had this picture out today. She's been going through some old stuff. So I asked if I could have it. The littlest girl in the picture is my friend Janell. The link in this blog's title will take you to her blog.
This is her family. I suppose they all have this picture already, but I thought they might get a kick out of it anyway.
Janell is one of two people on earth who can ask about my brothers and sisters--there are eight of us--and actually know what I'm talking about, who I'm talking about and care what I say. And I can do that with her. That's a different and precious kind of friendshaip when you have those roots with someone.
Anyway, looking at this picture made me smile and I thought I'd try and lure HER bloggers over to see it. Maybe it'll make them smile, too.

I was afreid Marybelle had found the one with the stick figures but there were only four of us when Mom sent that one.
I've got one more of your mom Rachel, and Franine Connealy Sears and one of Rachel with Marybelle, Norita Brink and an unidentifed woman, that's pretty funny, the four of them, adult women, are clowning around posing. You had something similar to it (maybe this very picture) at Rachel's funeral and when Marybelle saw it and said something like, "We were always so silly." And she started crying.
Rachel, Marybelle, Norita and Evelyn (Jarvis) may think they were just being silly, but the photos they posed for are practically legendary! I'm sure they were giggling as they posed and Mom always giggled again when one of the photos surfaced and we passed it around again. A lifetime of friendships captured on film.
Thanks for posting this family photo and for all the kind things you said about me - you cheered me up on this soggy MOnday.
You made me smile and also tear up a little. Mom will have been gone 2 years on the 19th. This picture hangs on my bedroom wall and is the only studio picture of all of us.
There are also some pictures of the Connealy kids and the Gatewood kids all lined up according to age.

I remember this picture! It was in the living room at the Gatewood home, I think! Brings back good memories. Like the time I spent the night and we listened to Janis Joplin (oh, Lord, won't ya buy me a Mercedes Benz)
