Only the big stuff

I'm not going to be one of those grandma's who bores everybody with minor details about her beautiful, precious, sweet, innocent, perfect grandchild.
But when something BIG happens, then YEAH, sure I'm going to write about that.
I thought this was worthy.

Elle's first HEADBAND!!!
Have you ever noticed that, at first, when a baby is very first born, you say, "She's two hours old, she's twelve hours old.
Then a day passes and you switch to, "She's two days old. She's five days old."
Then they start saying, "She's two weeks old, she's six weeks old."
Eventually that morphs into, "She's six months old, she's eighteen months old."
About the time they turn two it starts to be 1/2 years. "She's four and a half."
This ends about school age and is only years. "She's six. She's ten."
You know you're getting old when that drops to DECADES.
He's in his forties, sixties, eighties.
So she's already graduated.

Has it been a week already? Oh, she is just precious, Mary! And I bet you are going to spoil her rotten. That's what granddaughters are for, you know.

Mary, you weren't bragging with your description of Elle. She's perfect! And adorable sporting a headband. You're going to love being a grandmother!

Mary, Elle is gorgeous! She takes after her Granny Mary. Enjoy her while she's so small and adorable and can't talk!

She's so beautiful, Mary! And looks very good in pink : ) I'm hoping you live very close to Josie so you can be Grammy whenever you want : )

Whatever you do, do NOT say Elle looks like me in front of my daughter.

She starts crying and yelling, "No, no, not that! Anything but that!" And that just embarrasses everyone.

Oh - if I were a Grandma I would shout it from the housetops. My oldest is 28 and my youngest 22 and I have none. I would praise God every day. I had to pray my two daughters in. She is so precious and a gift from God so you have every right to rejoice. Keep us updated.

Oh, yeah, girlfriend, shout this out. Gotta mark these passages.

When did you get so smart, Connealy, or are we just now noticing it?

And she does look like you. And her mom, beautiful gal that she is.

Congratulations, Elle. You have a very loveable Gramma. You don't look to bad yourself, maybe a little bored, but beutiful.

Sue, you think she's bored NOW, well, no one in the family will let me talk about my writing anymore (Imagine that??!!)
So, I guess I'll just have to tell Elle. :) Guaranteed naptime. Grandma Mary will be the secret weapon.
