Karen Cooper

I lured a friend to my daughter's wedding and found out about this whole other life she's living since she used to live next door to me.
So Karen is painting...this picture a woman with a book, I love it.
And I'm writing. And we're finding out a thousand things we need to catch up on.
Go to her blog, too, which you can find through her website in the title link above.

“There are but three fundamental colors---red, yellow, and blue.” Vincent van Gogh

"And if Vincent said it then it must be true!? So I go with it, but I go with it because I like it that way. Three primaries, with maybe a daub of violet, and a bit of green, that which some people would call a limited palette. For me, it’s all that’s needed to make a painting that feels fresh and alive. And that’s where I need to be at this space in my life.

I paint with acrylic paint on gallery wrapped canvas. Occasionally I do ‘color sketches’ on paper which sometimes end up at exhibit as matted paintings. I do not make reproductions of any of my paintings, so each one that you look at is a unique rendering of my point of view." --Karen Cooper

What a lovely painting! Perfect for a writer's home. Buy it, Mary, before her prices get too high.

Wow, this woman is GOOD!!!!! I'd stay realll close to her, Mare. Christmas presents could be pretty darn nice.
Not to mention knowing someone like that adds a touch of class to anyone's life! Is Karen in the market for any more friends? I could use a touch of class.

Gorgeous!!! I've always loved primary colors. Karen's paintings are beautiful and uplifting. I need one (or two or three) in my house for inspiration and to brighten it up!

The one I've got posted is SOLD but she's got this whole Reading Series that is ALSO mostly sold...but there are lots of pictures on her site.
AND she's on some Artisan Tour this weekend and 200 people are potentially coming by her house to watch her paint.
A brave woman
