Mary,

I loved reading about your family and all that you experienced. My childhood was much the same except I only had one older brother and a younger sister. Mom & Dad made us do the chores, but was always happy to see our noses in a book.

Like you, I read Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden. If I couldn't lay hands on those, I read whatever I could. One of the books that has always been a favorite of mine is Girl of the Limberlost. I didn't read it until I was 14 and took it out the first time I ever visited a library. I could barely fathom so many books in one place.

Thanks for the walk down Memory Lane. I really enjoyed it.

Blessings for a great week and thanks again for the help on formatting. You rock!

Mary

"When I was just a kid" - great blog interview. I remember when we were really little - probably before Kindergarten - I was at your house and you said, "Let's go get my dad to play with us." The whole idea of a dad who would play (mine never did, that I remember) was so foreign to me - it still fills me with wonder.
