My Deer Herd

Every night on my drive home from work I see a herd of deer around this bin site. I finally had my camera. Sometimes there are twice this many. There must be corn spilled on the ground.
I seriously expected them to just stand there and pose...they seem that tame. But the brats ran off so I only got those white tails, flying, warning of how dangerous I am.

Look at those white tails fly!

We have both Whitetails and Mule Deer around here. The Whitetails are shy - you can hardly see them before they run off. But the Mulies will just stand there and stare at you. They might even take another bite of whatever they're eating before they move on.

Beautiful picture, even if they are camera shy.

No mule deer in my part of Nebraska. I'd love to see one. They're way bigger right?

Hi Mary-- I followed your link from Pioneer Woman and am glad I did. I live in a small, Colorado mountain town and love to see the deer. One of my favorite sights was climbing the mountain behind our house and seeing four huge bucks come out from behind old abandoned water tanks and just watch me. It was magnificent.

Hi Julie. I'm a huge Pioneer Woman fan. Thanks for stopping in. We've got so many deer around us I'm used to them, but I love the bucks with big antlers.

Hi Mary:

I can hear one of those deer talking: "That one shoots people. She'd sure as heck shoot us."

Hi, Vince. Can these deer know me that well?
I may be underestimating them. :)
